Crappie Busters is a tournament organization that
was founded in the fall of 1991 and is currently
ran by Mary and Mike Hawkins (Boat House Pro-Staff). The tournament schedule offers anglers 8 to 10
crappie tournaments at various lakes in eastern Kansas; Clinton, Perry, Melvern,
Pomona, and Council Grove to name a few. Crappie Busters attracts anglers in a
200 mile radius around Topeka, including Kansas City (Missouri), Lawrence,
Wichita and as far as Omaha (Nebraska).
In the spring of 1999, Crappie
Busters became affiliated with the American Crappie Association and formed the
Crappie Busters of Topeka, Kansas with a total of 14 members, and
increased to 28 in 2000. Our goal is to give the crappie fishermen of Kansas every opportunity to
have a part in any and all types of crappie fishing. Crappie Buster Tournaments are open to everyone, however
